Make the Central Pennsylvania Figure Skating Club your home for great skating benefits, fun and friendship.  Whether you are new to skating or have been skating for years, we love welcoming new members to our club and together we have promoted the sport of figure skating in the central Pennsylvania area for over 20 years.

The Central Pennsylvania Figure Skating Club has been carefully monitoring the coronavirus pandemic as we make decisions on how to handle our upcoming Spring skating show. Based upon Thursday's guidance from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and public health officials, CPFSC is announcing the cancellation (or postponement) of the March 22nd Spring Ice Show at Twin Ponds.

We understand this is disappointing news and we recognize the significant efforts and commitment from our athletes and coaches to prepare for the performances.

As a friendly reminder and for your own well being, here are recommended precautionary steps from the CDC to prevent the spread of germs, which include:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover a cough or sneeze – preferably with a disposable tissue.
  • Avoid touching your face – especially your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects.
  • Stay home if you have flu-like symptoms.

We will continue to monitor the situation, following the advice of public health officials in order to safeguard the health and safety of our members, their families and the community at large.

Please check the CPFSC  website and Facebook page to stay updated about club events. We also will use our email list to keep you apprised of developments as they unfold.

Thank you for your continued support of the figure skating club. We wish everyone good health and safety during this public health emergency.

As a new figure skating family, you’re preparing to embark on the journey of a lifetime. From the first steps on the ice to the Olympic podium, U.S. Figure Skating is there every step of the way. For many parents, it begins with the notion that they want their children to learn how to skate, but where to start?

And where does it go from group lessons? As kids develop their skills and want to use them in recreational and competitive activities, parents should know what opportunities are available
and what would be a good fit for their own kids.

These guides provide information on figure skating to assist parents as they support their children in their development and participation in this sport and will equip you with the tools to enjoy your child’s skating experience while making it fun and valuable for everyone involved.
